Our practice aims to provide the highest quality consultation and management of neurological conditions for our patients and referring providers. A neurologist is a doctor who specializes in diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system, specifically the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Examples of such diseases frequently seen in the office include migraine and other headaches, multiple sclerosis, seizures/epilepsy, stroke, sleep disorders, Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and neuromuscular disorders such as peripheral neuropathy and myasthenia gravis. Additional diagnostic and treatment services available in the office include EMG/nerve conduction studies, electroencephalograms (EEGs), neurotoxin (i.e. Botox) injections for headaches, dystonia and spasticity, and programming of vagal nerve stimulators.
We would like to make our patients aware of changes in our practice related to the Covid-19/novel coronavirus pandemic. We now have telemedicine capability available to see patients remotely, please call our office at 828-262-0600 to see if it is possible that your upcoming appointment can be a video encounter.
As per CDC recommendations, we would recommend that patients 65 years and older and others considered to be high risk strongly consider a telemedicine appointment if possible.
Obviously, if you have a fever, cough or other concerning symptoms such as possible exposure to an infected individual, please do not come to the office. Please be aware that only one visitor can come back to the exam room with a patient, and no children under 13 years of age (unless they are the patient). We are asking that all patients and visitors please wear masks to their appointment. Additionally, we are happy to have you check in by phone and wait in your vehicle until your appointment time, when we will call you in, to avoid crowding exposure in the waiting room.
